Dagar Dossier in the Friday Review – Lifting the elephant’s foot

As part of the Dagar Dossier, the Hindu in its Friday Review column on 10th March, 2017 has published an interview of Padmashri Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar, the 20th Generation torch-bearer of Dagarvani tradition of dhrupad-dhamar singing.

I am very proud and fortunate to be associated with the Dagar family and being a part of the extended family of students. This association started with the help of Pt. Vidur Mallik of Gauharbani (Darbhanga style of dhrupad singing) in 1987 after the concerts of Pandit Prem Kumar Mallik and Pandit Ram Kumar Mallik in the Parampara Parichay under the aegis of Dhrupad Society.
